glidergear.com.au project

Just an FYI and to help me with this new project:

I picked-up a job over the break. It's a website. Deadline is late June.

I just thought you all might be interested in my approach to designing it from the ground-up...actually top-down if you think about it since there's a bunch of standards and guidelines to adhere to.

I've contacted the client Greg, and have his email details and a rough idea of what he's after.
Here's a checklist of items I need to consider to help with the design of this site. it's a rough brainstorm of what I need to cover.
What are the goals of the site? what do you want the site to do?
Selling?
Point-of-information?
Point of contact?
Social networking/ building a community?
Online shop with automatic inventory control?

Who updates it and how frequently?
Who takes care of hosting and Domain Name registration ?
Got an ABN? (necessary for .com.au)
Privacy concerns? Who has access privileges to the code for the website?
Got any exisiting content? Who's responsible for supplying the content? (text/ photos/ videos)

Seen any similar context sites that you like the look of?
What are the categories of information in the site? Testimonials? Product Info? Gallery? Contact info? Links? Affiliates?

This is an incomplete list but from this I can work out what sort of site to develop. A blog? A static site with frills? A CMS-based solution? A Google hosted site?

And finally how much do you expect to pay for your site.
